Benches from Pinterest

Before I left for the beach I started this project to make the ever famous, crate benches from Pinterest. I used milk crates, plywood, mattress pad foam, and fabric. A friend and I discovered that buying the mattress pad foam from Wal-Mart and cutting it to fit the plywood was much more cost efficient. We got enough foam to double the cushioning for 12 crates!

I plan on using these as benches in my reading corner. I am attaching them with black zip-ties. I plan to make two benches with three seats each. Here is what I have completed so far. I will put up pictures again when I am finished.

  1. Love the benches...I was thinking that I might need to make some myself...but there are sooooo many different projects that I have found on Pinterest...that I don't know where to begin!

My blog is very new...but come by and give me a shout.

  2. Your red and white polka dot benches would look so great in my classroom! I'm following you to see what other projects you come up with. You might like to take a peek at my polka dotty classroom, too.
